The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly When Asking Dating Questions

The Ugly Questions

4. Politics is a no, no

Voting in an election - politics

Anything about politics should be off limits the first few dates. If you are hardcore maybe its best to know up front but this would ruin the date if you both are on the opposite of the political spectrum.

3. Previous dates or girlfriends/boyfriends

No one wants to hear about your previous bad relationships. You bring that toxicity into this date and I promise you it will be over quickly.

If you do not like the person you are on a date with then I guess you can sabotage it by discussing your previous relationships.

2. Leave the news out of the conversation

Your date wants to have fun and get away from the crazy world we live in. You bring up the news, which is always bad is a downer. No one wants to date a downer.

1. Religion questions

Religion is important but leave it to later. Hopefully you know their religious beliefs from reading their profile. This is a big deal if the relationship gets serious.

I just don’t see too many atheist that marry a Christian or Catholic. At some point in a relationship religion will matter.

Your first few dates should be fun and not too bogged down with heavy questions

How long have you been dating? Less than a handful of months? If so, then don’t start asking questions that make it sound like you’re ready to get married.

The questions you ask should be lighthearted and lead to lots of laughs and giggles. Anything too deep, and you’ll end up making each other feel uncomfortable.

Leave the questions about politics, religion, and current events for later on when you know each other better.

You’ll figure out what the other person believes along the way. The early stages of dating have to be an enjoyable experience.

You will go on quite a few dates with a lot of people before you find the right person to settle down with.
